Donnybrook
We
are a Celtic band located in Chicago and have been together
for twelve years. We take great pride in our diversity. Songs
and
tunes are selected from several artists including Mary
Black, Christy
Moore, The Clancy Brothers as well as The Bothy Band, Planxty,
Battlefield Band and others including some originals. We have
such diversity because of our wide range of instrumentation
including
whistle, pipes, fiddle, banjo, bouzouki, mandolin, bodhran,
and guitar. The vocals of Liz Kearney Arwine have been compared
to Dolores Keane and Francis Black while the lads supply the craic.
As you will see by the copy of our most recent Gigs and Sessions
page, Donnybrook is not an "up and coming" or "backyard";
but rather an established, accomplished Celtic performance
band playing nearly every Irish establishment in the Chicago
area.
Donnybrook is also a familiar visitor to the festival circuit.
In 2001, we
had the pleasure of appearing at the Gaelic Park Irish Fest,
the St. Andrews Highland Games, the Irish American Heritage
Center's Taste of Ireland, the Arlington Heights Irish Fest,
the Rockford
Area Celtic Fest, the Elmhurst Irish Fest, the Peoria Erin
Feis, Rockford On the Waterfront, the Fox Valley Irish Fest,
the Quad
City Erin Feis, and the USA Fest.
